Brunel is running a one-year stand-alone diploma course in conjunction with the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).


It will begin in September 2018 and will be open to Year 2 journalism students who have passed a special pre-entry test in class.

Registration deadline 24th September 2018.


The course will run alongside your existing degree programme and be timetabled to fit your schedule.


Subjects to be studied include: Essential Journalism, Journalism Ethics, Essential Media Law, Court Reporting, Public Affairs, Video and Shorthand. For more, see the NCTJ website:


There will be no additional fees for the course or the exams although you will have to pay for exam resits. We will expect total commitment to this course throughout the year as we help you gain a highly-valuable industry-recognised qualification that will be a gateway to a job within the industry.
