Brunel University Question Time: General Election 2019
On December 12th 2019 the United Kingdom will go to the polls for the fourth time in five years, to vote in an election that is being described as the most important for a generation. Following three years of political paralysis over Brexit, rising calls for another Independence Referendum in Scotland, a Reunification Referendum in Northern Ireland and even a first Independence Referendum in Wales, a stagnating economy and creaking public services, it is hard to dispute that the outcome of this election will shape the future of the UK for many years.
On 4th December, Brunel University’s Politics & History Division will bring together a panel of academic experts and candidates seeking the votes of students in this historic election. Chaired by Brunel’s Prof. Justin Fisher, students and staff will have the chance to put their questions to Ali Milani (Labour Candidate for Uxbridge and South Ruislip), Mark Keir (Green Candidate for Uxbridge and South Ruislip) and Dr Nicole Martin (University of Manchester), as well as other panellists (soon to be confirmed – watch this space!).
